Dr. Noir here again! Okay, so technically the very nice Dr. Pepper Schwartz said, "Stop. Look. Listen." in her book Dating After 50 For Dummies, but she said it was okay for me to crib from her!
In other words, she said that when you and your partner first see each other -- in the morning, afternoon, evening, or whenever -- always stop what you're doing, look at each other while making eye contact, and then listen to what messages you'e both sending to each other. It only takes about a minute to make a connection that makes a nice, fresh starting point for intimacy.
Also, if you're starting to date again, the first thing you got to do is know here to find people. Where? Pepper told me:
1. Events targeted at single people
2. Public places, like dog parks (hint, hint)
3. Online dating
5. Hobby-related activities.
Remember! Stay safe. Never get out personal information (address, phone number, etc.), never let someone you just met walk you to your car, and always tell friends and/or family where you’re going and with whom.
Just as important, though: be resilient! The first, second, or even tenth date may leave you feeling discouraged. But don’t give up. It does work!
